The history of playing cards originated in China during the Tang Dynasty. The precursor of the modern deck of 52 cards with four suits arrived in Europe from the Mamelukes of Egypt in the late 1300s. Playing cards may be used for a variety of games. Another pastime involves the stacking of cards, relying on nothing more than balance and friction, to form a structure.
imm-living presents its series of artist-designed playing cards. Each deck of cards is produced with a sequence of die-cuts enabling users to interlock the cards and build elaborate constructions. Design icons Charles and Ray Eames' House of Cards inspired the concept.
